چکیده

Preservation of the mitral valve (MV) size is essential for function, and a reduced MV coaptation-zone area increases risk developing functional regurgitation (FMR). We aimed to determine if leaflet areas were associated with severity atherosclerosis assessed by cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI) in patients normal left ventricle (LV) systolic function real-time 3D echocardiography (RT3DE).We performed RT3DE analysis 66 LV ejection fraction who underwent 2D CAVI. measured custom software indexed body surface (BSA). The associations clinical factors mean CAVI evaluated univariable multivariable linear regression analyses. On analysis, area/BSA was significantly age (r = -0.335, P 0.0069) -0.464, < 0.001), -0.626, hypertension dyslipidemia E/e' -0.740, 0.001). On independently only (standardized coefficient -0.611, 0.001) -0.74, 0.001).In size, might be according advancing atherosclerosis. Patients at increased FMR.

Effects of telmisartan on arterial stiffness assessed by the cardio-ankle vascular index in hypertensive patients.

BACKGROUND/AIMS This study was conducted to determine the effect of telmisartan on the cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI), a novel blood pressure (BP)-independent marker for arterial stiffness in hypertensive patients. METHODS One hundred consecutive hypertensive patients were randomly assigned either to a group treated with calcium channel blocker (CCB)-based therapy or a group treated with ...

Cardio-ankle vascular index is independently associated with the severity of coronary atherosclerosis and left ventricular function in patients with ischemic heart disease.

AIM The cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI) has been proposed as a new noninvasive marker of arterial stiffness independent of blood pressure. We investigated the association of the CAVI with coronary atherosclerosis and left ventricular (LV) systolic and diastolic function in patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD). METHODS A total of 206 consecutive subjects undergoing coronary angiograph...

Cardio-ankle vascular index is a candidate predictor of coronary atherosclerosis.

BACKGROUND Recently, arterial stiffness parameter called cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI) has been developed. In the current study, using coronary angiographic (CAG) findings, the usefulness of CAVI as a marker of the severity of coronary atherosclerosis was compared with that of carotid atherosclerosis parameters obtained from high-resolution B-mode ultrasonography. METHOD AND RESULT A tot...

Assessment of Arterial Stiffness Using the Cardio-Ankle Vascular Index.

BACKGROUND Arterial stiffness is an independent predictor of outcomes for patients with cardiovascular disease. Although measurement of pulse wave velocity is a widely accepted, noninvasive approach for the assessment of arterial stiffness, its accuracy is affected by changes in blood pressure. SUMMARY The cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI) is an index of the overall stiffness of the artery f...

Availability of cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI) as a screening tool for atherosclerosis.

BACKGROUND A novel index, the cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI), which reflects the stiffness of the aorta, femoral artery, and tibial artery, was recently developed by measuring brachial - ankle pulse wave velocity and blood pressure. METHODS AND RESULTS In the present study 1,014 Japanese adults from the general population were screened to clarify the correlation between CAVI and other exi...
